Who will be William Ruto's running mate in Kenya's 2027 Presidential Election?
Probability History
Outcomes
This market will resolve based on the individual who is officially confirmed and cleared as William Ruto’s running mate (candidate for Deputy President) for the 2027 Kenyan presidential election on the final ballot as accepted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). Resolution steps:
1. The market will wait until the IEBC publishes the final, official list of presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 General Election.
2. The winning outcome will be the name of the person listed by the IEBC as the running mate (Deputy President candidate) of William Samoei Ruto on this official list.
3. If William Ruto is not an official presidential candidate in 2027, all outcomes will resolve as "No winner" and the market will be voided/refunded.
4. If Ruto changes his running mate after an initial announcement but before IEBC final clearance, the market will resolve to the person appearing as his running mate on the final IEBC-cleared ballot.
5. If Ruto changes his running mate after IEBC final clearance but before or during the election (e.g., due to death, withdrawal, or disqualification), the market will still resolve to the person who appears as his running mate on the original IEBC-cleared presidential ballot, unless IEBC formally amends and republishes the ticket; in that case, the latest official IEBC list as of election day will be used.
6. If the eventual running mate is not one of the specifically listed individuals, the outcome "Any other person" will be resolved as the winner.Media reports, party announcements, or opinion pieces will not be sufficient for resolution unless they are clearly consistent with, and later confirmed by, IEBC records.
